Russians attempt to conceal Raduyev's murder

Publication time: 16 December 2002, 01:26
The body of Chechen Commander Salman Raduyev, who died in Russian captivity, will not be handed over to his relatives for burial. «Raduyev will be buried according to the instructions in line with current legislation», the Justice Ministry official explained. At the same time they claimed that «there are no legal grounds to hand over Raduyev’s body to his relatives».

Meanwhile relatives and friends of Salman Raduyev believe that he was killed by Russian authorities in the prison. As a
Kavkaz Center source reported, Mr. Raduyev’s spouse is convinced that the refusal to hand over the body of her husband is the proof that Russians want to conceal the traces that confirm the suspicions that Salman Raduyev was killed.

Chechen officials also expressed an opinion that Raduyev was killed. Thus, Chief of External Subcommittee of the Informational Council (of State Defense Council «Majlis al-Shura» of Chechen Republic of Ichkeria) Movladi Udugov believes that Raduyev was killed right after he refused to speak with the accusations against President’s Representative Akhmed Zakayev. «As far as so-called «testimonies against Zakayev» go, which were forwarded to
Denmark and UK, most likely they are falsified», – Mr. Udugov believes. According to him, he talked to some of Raduyev’s friends, who claim that intense tortures of the Chechen Commander started soon after Zakayev’s arrest in Denmark. They demanded that Raduyev makes a public speech in the Danish court with accusations against President Maskhadov’s representative. However, Salman Raduyev refused to play the role that he was offered.

P.S. On behalf of
Kavkaz Center editorial staff – May Almighty Allah bless Salman’s Jihad! – «Dala Dek’al Voila Salman, Dala G’azot K’obal Tsunan!»
