Nine years ago President Dudayev became Shaheed

Publication time: 25 April 2005, 00:34

Late in the evening on 21 April 1996 , as a result of terrorist act, the first President of the Chechen Independent State General Johar Dudayev became shaheed. A missile blow was delivered at that moment when the Chechen President was speaking on the telephone in a desolate locality not far from the village of Ghekhi-chu in the west of CRI.

Russian leadership hoped that by killing Dudayev they would suppress Chechen Resistance and the war would end in favor of the occupation forces. However, the following events showed that the Kremlin's hopes were not fated to be justified. The Chechens did not waver, quite on the contrary - having concentrated efforts, they delivered a staggering blow on the aggressors and liberated the capital of their Fatherland and took control of the situation in the country.

After Dudayev's death the Chechen Government formed a special investigating group to ascertain the organizers and performers of the terrorist act. Before withdrawal of the Russian occupation troops from Chechnya , the investigating group worked in secret. With the restoration of sovereignty of CRI, from august 1996 to September 1999, the Chechen investigators started working legally, collecting necessary information about the terrorist act.

When the Russian aggressors broke into the country for the second time, the investigating group continued to work secretly.

For today a great deal of information and documents have been collected, which partly cast light on the murder of the first Chechen president, committed by means of a terrorist act. Despite the fact that the investigation is going on, one might say that the US and Russian special services, as well as the superior military-political leadership of these countries are involved in the terrorist act against Dudayev.

According to one of the versions worked out by the Chechen investigating group, the coordinates of Dudayev's whereabouts were transmitted to the Russian side by the US National Security Agency (NSA), following direct instructions of Clinton 's Administration. The NSA traced satellite communications of the Chechen President using the “INMARSAT” system.

Besides that it is established that the order about organization of the terrorist act was given by Eltsin. The organizers of the terrorist act, as well as the performers were decorated with the gold stars of Hero of Russia by Eltsin personally.

It is in the interests of the investigation not to expose many details of the crime. Yet it may be declared with certainty that the investigation will not be suspended under any circumstances and it will be carried to its conclusion. The organizers and performers of this terrorist act will be revealed (some of them are already identified) and punished severely without statute of limitation.

As to the murderers of two other presidents of CRI Yandarbiyev and Maskhadov, the organizers of these crimes have already been identified - Putin, Patrushev, Ivanov and some other performers, whose identities are partly established. The Shariah Court of CRI has already rendered a decision with respect to these people.
