Shamil Basayev: 'Nalchik attacked by 217 Mujahideen'

Kavkaz Center agency has received via email a statement from Military Amir Abdallah Shamil Abu-Idris (Shamil Basayev) on results of assault operation in Nalchik on 13 October, 2005. Kavkaz Center publishes the full text of this statement.

Bismillahi-Rahmani-Rahim! (In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful!)

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, Who made us Muslims and blessed us with Jihad on His Straight Path!

Peace and blessings to Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), His Family, his disciples and all of those who follow him till the Judgement Day!

And then:

Almighty Allah (SWT) in the Holy Koran says: "Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah: of them some have died, and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least." (The Allies, 23)

Alhamdulillah (Praise to God), by the mercy of Allah, Mujahideen of Kabardino-Balkarian sector of the Caucasian Front have carried out large-scale assault operation against the Russian invaders and their henchmen in the city of Nalchik on 13 October, 2005.

217 Mujahideen participated in the assault operation, who at 9:14 a.m. simultaneously stormed 15 military objects of all power structures of KB in territory of city:

FSB, the Center ‘Т’, HQ of GRU (military intelligence), RUBOP (department for combating organized crime), the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Departments of Internal Affairs, regiment of PPS (Patrol-Guard Service), OMON (special police detachments), special troops of GUIN (Russian Prison Service), frontier troops, the airport, Ministry of Defence company, and a brigade of VV (Internal Troops).

Arms shops were stormed by groups unknown to us. We did not attacked Kanokov (new president of KB) only because he has ordered to open again mosques and it has actually save him life.

During the assault operation more 300 (about 140 killed and more than 160 wounded) kafirs and minafiqs were eliminated and wounded, mainly newly arrived Special Forces members. Three halicopters and a few units of military hardware were destroyed, war booty captured.

Exactly after 2 hours at 11:15 a.m. the main units of Mujahideen left the city.

Our casulties – 41 Shaheeds, insha Allah.

These all are our wounded Mujahideen who could not move and consequently conducted combat up to the end, by remaining in city.

For us it is greater casulties. These casulties caused bacause five days before the operation there was a serious information leakage and kafirs have dispatched additioanly 1000 Special Forces units to Nalchik by planes, trains and motor vehicles.

On 11-12 October, they dispatched even tanks and BMPs. However, the Mujahideen in Majlis on 11 October, have refused to postpone the operation and as it had been planned, in the morning on 13 October, they carried out two-hour-long assault operation – “One of two best”. (“the Victory or Paradise”).

Amir of the Kabardino-Balkarian sector of the Caucasian Front Seyfullah was the commander of this operation. I’ve carried out the general operative management (this our rules -- Amir of sector on which territory’s happenig the operation commands the operation,  and all high-ranking Amirs who participates in operation pass into his command for the period of its carrying out).

During the storm of FSB building my naib (assistant) on operative work Amir of Ingush Jamaat Gorchkhanov Ilyas who commanded the assault groups of Mujahideen ‘Center’ became Shaheed, insha Allah. Amirs Osetin and the Krasnodar sectors got light wounds.

Amir of Caucasion Front did not participate in the operation, since he is busy of preparation of other work that I have assigned to him.

Peculiarity of this operation consists of that for the first time the operation was not a blocking one but a cleanly assault operation of such scale. And at sharp change of quantity and quality of the enemy, sharp shortage of an ammunition, in a situation allowing to cancel or postpone operation for later term.

Despite of greater losses, this is a big succes for us, as our dead ones in Paradise, insha Allah and their dead ones in the Hell!

Unprecedented courage and heroism of our brothers in Nalchik spikes confidence and determination into us to continue struggle up to a full victory.

Jihad, by the mercy of Allah, extends and passes to higher level of consciousness and self-sacrifice when more come of those who aspires to die on a way of the Allah more strongly than our enemies wish to live.

And most likely this world will burn down in dark blue flame, than we shall refuse our Belief and Freedom!

And may Allah help us in His straight path!
