Afghanistan: Battles go on

Taliban claimed killing six US occupation soldiers in a landmine blast in eastern Kunar province on Tuesday. The US forces, however, rejected Taliban claim and termed it a “false claim”

 

Spokesman of Taliban fighters Dr. Muhammad Hanif, on Tuesday phoned the office of Afghan Islamic Press from an undisclosed location and said, “Taliban fighters blew a vehicle of US Army with a remote control landmine in Manoogi district of Kunar province, killing six American solders.

 

Two karzay policemen were killed and four others wounded in Taliban attack on a police post in restive Kandahar province last night, puppet police said Wednesday.

 

A local puppet police officer of Kandahar, Nazak, while giving details to Afghan Islamic Press said, “Taliban attacked a police post in 6th Zone of Kandahar city last night 9:00 P.M. in which two policemen were killed and four others received injuries.”

 

The puppet karzay police officer did not disclose further details of the incident.

 

Earlier two occupation soldiers including, one american, were killed and four wounded in Taliban attack in troubled Helmand province, occupation forces said on Wednesday. One karzay armed formation soldier was also wounded.

 

Occupation forces employed a variety of combined arms to include close air support and are believed to have killed at least a dozen Taliban fighters (no evidence such statements). Battle damage assessment is continuing, it said.

 

The statement said the wounded occupation soldiers and the ANA soldier were evacuated to a occupation medical facility in Kandahar Province for treatment.
