Taliban Mujahiddeen on Thursday claimed to have captured a district headquarters last night in Helmand province. Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousef phoned office of the Afghan Islamic Press and said,
“Taliban fighters attacked the Mosa Qala district headquarters in Helmand province and returned to their positions after setting the headquarters on fire.”
He said, “The firefight left 18 puppet policemen killed and wounded while one Talib fighter was also killed and five other wounded.”
The Taliban spokesman also added that occupation forces bombarded the area but Taliban fighters had fled the area before the bombing.
It is merit mentioning that a resident of the area phoned Afghan Islamic Press late last night and said that Taliban captured the Mosa Qala district.
Taliban on Wednesday claimed to have attacked a security post in Kunar province last night.
Taliban fighters attacked Pironi Post in Watapur district of Kunar province last night, spokesman of Taliban fighters, Dr. Muhammad Hanif told Afghan Islamic Press.
Puppet police deputed at the post escaped after the clash while Taliban seized a Kalashinkov and returned safely to their positions, he added.
The Taliban spokesman did not unveil any details about the casualties in the firefight.
