Three American Tanks Destroyed in Afghanistan

A number of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) troops were killed during scuffle with Taliban on Tuesday, on May 23.

 

Taliban spokesman, Muhammad Hanif while talking to Tehran Radio told that a vehicle of NATO troops was blown up with remote control at Chardarra district of Kunduz killing all the people board.

 

Over the NATO air attack at Punjwai district of Kandhar province, he added that sixty innocent people were killed during the strike.

 

He also told about the  killing two puppet government troops in northern Afghanistan at the locality of Pule Khomri, the capital of Baghlan province.

 

Meanwhile, former Governor of Paktika province Muhammad a Ali was killed at Angar district of Ghazni province, Qari Masood informed Tehran Radio.

 

He informed that Taliban attacked a US convoy at Girsik district of Helmand province destroying three tanks. Casualties’ figures have not ascertained till the filling of this story.

 

The spokesman of Taliban fighters, Dr. Muhammad Hanif, phoned Afghan Islamic Press and said, “Taliban attacked district headquarters of Garbaz but we do not have details of the damage.”

 

Similarly, the Taliban spokesman said, “A Talib fighter shot dead an American driver with a silencer fitted Kalashnikov when he was defusing a landmine in Sato Kandao of Paktia province yesterday, on May 22”.

 

Taliban fighters executed a man, Raz Gul on charges of spying for Americans in Khushamand district of Paktika province on May 23.

 

Three tankers supplying oil to American forces were set ablaze by Taliban fighters in Was Khula area of Paktika province.

 

Spokesman of Taliban fighters Qari Muhammad Yousaf told Afghan Islamic Press by phone that Taliban captured district headquaters of Baghran district in restive Helmand province  after a brief clash last night (May 22). Asked that Taliban had also claimed the capturing of the same district in the past then why you retreated, the Taliban spokesman said, “Following our strategy we capture such area and then retreat from these areas.”

 

Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousif while talking to Afghan Islamic Press from an unidentified location said, “Taliban attacked the Gazak security post in the Khak Afghan district of Zabul province last night and killed 12 policemen.” He did not provide any further detail in this regard. Khak Afghan district is about 105 kilometers to north of Qalat capital of Zabul province.

 

The police convoy which was attacked by Taliban on May; 22 was also consisting of vehicles traveling in by Deputy Governor Mulla Amir and Police Chief Abdur Rahman Saber. 10 policemen  were killed in the attack.
