"Taliban Mujahiddeen attacked a party of British troops in Baghran district of Helmand Province and killed 12 British soldiers," Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousaf told Afghan Islamic Press.
When AIP contacted, Rob Hunt, spokesman for British occupation forces in Afghanistan, he said, "No British troops were involved in action yesterday and as such there are no casualties."
A Shaheed attacked convoy of occupation forces in Kandahar late Friday, western officials said.
"A motorcycle rider attacked convoy of coalition forces at Sarkari Bagh area of Argandad district in Kandahar province and detonated his explosive laden bike killing himself but causing no damages to coalition forces," Maj. Quentin Malcolm Innis told Afghan Islamic Press.
Meanwhile eyewitness said that attack was carried out by a man driving a car. Three people riding on a bike close to the vehicle killed and three other passerbies injured in the incident, eyewitness added.
The occupation forces spokesman expressed unawareness of the civilian's deaths in the incident. There was no claim of responsibility by Taliban in this regard.
Taliban claimed to have killed a puppet deputy district incharge and his guard in Ghazni province late Thursday.
"Taliban Mujahiddeen killed Matiullah, deputy incharge of Maqrad district, and his guard in Zabit village of Ghazni province," Taliban spokesman Qari Muhammad Yousaf told Afghan Islamic Press. He did not disclose further details.
