Five occupation soldiers were injured when Taliban attacked their patrol in Zabul province on Saturday, spokeswoman of occupation forces said.
Spokeswoman of occupation forces in Kabul, Lt. Tamara Lawrence confirmed to Afghan Islamic Press that "Five Coalition Soldiers were wounded in the Shahjoi district of Zabul Province when their unit received small arms and rocket propelled grenade fire from enemy extremists."
She said the wounded soldiers were evacuated to a Coalition medical facility for treatment.
Earlier, spokesman of Taliban fighters Qari Muhammad Yousaf phoned the office of Afghan Islamic Press from an unknown location and said,
"Taliban fighters attacked a occupation patrol in Shahjoi district of Zabul province and destroyed three coalition military vehicles."
He said an unknown number of occupation troops were killed in the attack.
