
Defected militiamen from the so call "transitional federal government" based in Baidoa town 240km southwest of Somalia have joined on Tuesday the Islamic Force in the capital.
At least 50 militiamen from Digil and Mirifle clans, armed with machineguns and two battle wagons became the Islamic troops.
The militiamen have been trained in the puppet pro-western "government" camps of Manas and Deynunay in the outskirt of Baidoa, where they deserted after feeling unsatisfied, militia commanders said.
The deputy security official of Islamic Courts Sheik Muktar Roobow known as Abu-Mansur, has welcomed the defection of the militiamen and told them they were right to the decision to save their lives.
The militias have been encamped Ex Maslah military camp in northwest Mogadishu and they have been handed turbans to show Islamic signs.
"We are very pleased to what you've decided after facing difficulties in Badioa" Sheik Muktar Robow said adding "You escaped from Ethiopian colonyin Bay region and that is what Islamic clerics always welcome,"
Sheik Muktar also said that the militiamen who deserted "government training camps" to join the Islamic Force have shown bravery. "This is beginning, every soldier in the government Camps will join the Islamic movements here in the Capital or everywhere in Somalia" he said.
Early July 135 militiamen who have emptied government training camp reached Mogadishu to join the Islamic Force, SomaliNet reported.
