Occupation forces base attacked with rockets in Afganistan

Taliban fired rockets at a base of occupation forces in Khost province last night but no occupation soldier was injured, a coalition spokesman said Wednesday (August 16). While confirming the incident to Afghan Islamic Press, Chris Miller, a spokesman of occupation forces said, "There were rocket attacks in the Mando Zayi District of Khost Province. They impacted east of the camp and there were no injuries to Coalition personnel or equipment."

 

Earlier, spokesman of Taliban fighters, Dr. Muhammad Hanif, phoned the office of AIP and said Taliban fired three rockets at a US base in Khost province last night but details of the damage was not available.

 

Six Canadian solders and two karzai militants were wounded as a mortar shell landed at NATO base in Kandahar yesterday, an occupation ISAF spokesman said Wednesday (August 16). Spokesman of NATO forces in Kandahar, Maj. Malcolm Innis, told Afghan Islamic Press that the incident happened in Ziari district of Kandahar province yesterday when a mortar shell hit NATO forces base, wounding six Canadian and two karzai "soldiers".

 

Taliban on Tuesday reported to have killed 3 US occupation soldiers in a roadside bomb explosion in Maidan Wardak province yesterday.

 

Spokesman of Taliban fighter Dr. Muhammad Hanif phoned the office of Afghan Islamic Press from and undisclosed location and said Taliban blew up a US military vehicle with remote control landmine in village Ismail Khail, district Jalrez of Maidan Wardak province yesterday afternoon (August 14).

 

He added that the vehicle was destroyed in the attack and 3 US soldiers were perished.
