Over 18 US Troops Terminated by Ansar al-Sunnah in Iraq

Ansar al-Sunnah in Iraq issued several communiqués  Thursday, August 17, 2006, in which  the group reported attacks targeting American forces. On Tuesday of this week, August 15, the group states that their Mujahideen detonated a very explosive improvised device in al-Muqdadiya, in Diyali, on an American troop transportation vehicle,  killing eighteen soldiers. Other attacks include executing a Badr Brigade member who translated material for American forces in Diyali; bombing an American armored car in the same area; and bombing two US Humvees in Tikrit and al-Muqdadiya.
