
On August 28, 2006, mobile units of Mujahideen and diversion groups of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria's Armed Forces attacked Russian invaders and their stooges in the Chechen capital of Jokhar and in southern Chechnya, Kavkaz Center sources in the Chechen Military Command report.
On the night to August 28, Mujahideen carried out about 10 attacks on positions and dislocation points of the enemy in Jokhar, killing 2 and wounding 4 kafirs (infidels) and munafiqs (apostates). The figures of enemy casualties were obtained by radio intercept. One Mujahid was wounded.
In southern Chechnya, Mujahideen destroyed 13 enemy troops.
3 Russian special forces troops were killed in a forest range in an ambush in the area of village Komsomolskoye in Urus Martan district. Two Mujahideen were lightly wounded in the firefight.
Another 5 Russian kafirs were killed in an ambush in Nozhai Yurt district. After the firefight, Russian artillery bombarded the combat area and supposed withdrawal routes of the Mujahideen. No other information was available.
1 kafir from a sappers' group was destroyed in an explosion in the area of village Shamil Kotar in Vedeno district.
At least 4 other Russian troops were killed in a special operation of Mujahideen near village Verkhotoi. One Mujahid martyred in this firefight (Shaheed, insha Allah). No other information is available.
Russian aviation pounded Shatoi, Urus Martan, Vedeno and Nozhai Yurt districts. No information is available about casualties among Mujahideen or civilians.
