The Mujahideen Shura Council in Iraq issued a statement Wednesday, August 30, 2006, consisting of the bi-monthly report of military operations executed by the group between Friday, August 4 and Thursday, August 17, 2006. As opposed to news broadcast by the Crusader and Arab apostates\' media, the Council assures that their own communiqués are truthful and evident of the degree of true losses inflicted on the enemy. The message states: "You can see the Crusader's media announcing the killing of two soldiers west of Iraq and no word about tens of the Crusaders, whose body parts were scattered in the air after an attack by the Abi Dajana al-Ansari Suicidal Knights".
According to the group, using figures from reports where the number of casualties was clearly given, a total of 806 people were killed, including "cross soldiers," Iraqi National Guard, police, peace-keeping and Interior police, Kurdish Peshmerga, and Shi'ite militia members of al-Ghadr Brigade and al-Mahdi Army. This figure is approximately eleven percent higher than that given in the group's tally from the period of July 20 through August 3, 2006, though there was a sharp decrease in the number of Western forces' casualties. The Harvest also includes figures for vehicles lost, five suicide operations, deaths via sniper fire, and numbers of rockets and mortar shells fired.
