
Saturday morning (Sept. 9), Iraqi Mujahiden fighters carried out a complex attack on a US column on the al-Jarayishi Road north of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad, killing at least 10 US troops and wounding seven more of them.
On Friday evening, Iraqi Mujahideen fighters equipped with light arms and rocket launchers attacked a US river patrol made up of several military patrol boats on ‘Anah lake, about 300km northwest of Baghdad. The Mujahideen fighters destroyed one river patrol boat, killing two US troops and wounding two more of them.
An American soldier taking part in a US patrol on the main road near the al-Furqan Mosque in the city of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad was shot and killed on Friday evening by an Iraqi Mujahid marksman. The soldier took a direct hit from a sharpshooter's bullet, dying instantly.
An Iraqi Mujahid fida'i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US patrol in the Zuyunah area of southeastern Baghdad. The car bomb went off by a patrol of several Humvees on the main road in the area, near the al-Amanah Bridge. The blast completely destroyed one Humvee and disabled a second, killing five American troops and wounding two more of them.
