2 Tanks. 6 Humvee Destroyed Amid 100% False ISAF Claims

Publication time: 12 September 2006, 11:32

Taliban on Monday dismissed ISAF's claims of killing of hundreds of fighters during the Operation Medusa and said, "The invading forces' revelations are 100 percent false." Taliban said this in press statement issued on Monday (Sept. 11) which was read to Afghan Islamic Press by the spokesman of Taliban guerillas, Dr. Muhammad Hanif by phone from an undisclosed location. The invading forces in Afghanistan have been issuing inflated statements in which they (ISAF forces) announce the killing of hundreds of Taliban which is 100 percent false, the statement said. Yesterday, the invading forces in a press statement announced the killing of a number of more fighters in Panjwai district but actually only two fighters were killed, it said.

The statement continued: "Later, the invaders with the support of their puppets demolished civilians' houses and destroyed orchards by bulldozers and killed a number of women and children." In another statement the invaders claimed 150 fighters were killed today and yesterday but this is too 100 percent false as only three Mujahideen were killed during the last two days in the entire Afghanistan, the statement said, adding that six US vehicles were destroyed in Kamdesh district of Noristan province today (Sept. 11) and two tanks (Humvee) were destroyed in Pashmool, Kandahar. The invading forces claims regarding the martyring of mujahideen carry truth and the issuing of such statements are aimed to boost the downing morale of their troops, the statement concluded.

Meanwhile Taliban fighters attacked on September 10 a check post in Shegal district in Kunar province and killed three puppet soldiers.

Taliban attacked US military convoy in Kamdesh district of Noristan province on September 10  in which six military vehicles were destroyed.  Taliban has no information about the US forces casualties in the attack, however, two fighters were martyred (Shahideen, insha Allah)  in the firefight.
