Ossetian Mujahideen Accept Responsibility For Shooting Down Russian Helicopter

Publication time: 12 September 2006, 21:10

The Kavkaz Center news agency received by e-mail an official statement of Kataib al-Khoul, a Jamaat of Ossetian Mujahideen, accepting responsibility for a successful diversion operation in North Ossetia in shooting down a Russian helicopter in which a large number of high-level Russian terrorists was eliminated.

In particular, the statement says:

"By Mercy of Almighty Allah, Lord of the Worlds, helping His faithful slaves to be zealous in His direct way.

We rely upon Allah only, our Lord, we address our prayers and hopes to Him Alone.

On September 11, 2006, Almighty Allah delivered with the hand of His slaves a sensitive blow to the occupation army. Thank Almighty Allah, Protector of His warriors, the Mujahideen carried out the promised operation against the military aviation of the crusaders.

For a long time already , the Ossetian Mujahideen carry out intelligence operations, in particular in regard to the the enemy air force. We are observing kafirs' military airfields in Mozdok, the helicopter base in the area of Ghizeli and Mairamadag as well as some other targets.

The Mujahideen from the Kataib al-Khoul Jamaat timely received, processed and sent to Ichkeria intelligence data which helped to destroy a Russian MI-8 helicopter with officers of the 58th Army aboard in November 2002, when it returned from Jokhar to the base in the area of Ghizeli and Mairamadag. And now, with the help of Allah, we started to attack the Russian air force also in North Ossetia.

The Mujahideen received information that in the course of military exercises by kafirs (infidels), helicopters with the Russian army commanders would rise in the air. This intelligence data made it possible for us to determine the time and the route of the flight. We also received a list of names and ranks of Russian officers who were goinng to take part in the flight of the MI-8 helicopter.

According to our information, several general, colonels and lietenant-colonels were onboard of the destroyed helicopter. The helicopter was shot down with a portable antiaircraft guided missile system (PAGMS). The direct launch of the rocket was carried out by Saad, the Amir of the Kataib al-khoul Jamaat.

There was only one PAGMS at the Mujihideen operative base in Jihadhau (Russian name, Vladikavkaz) which made it impossible for the Mujahideen to shoot down also the escort helicopter. However, the Mujahideen have a sufficient number of PAGM systems, allowing to control the airspace of Ossetia and the routes of the kafirs' military aviation in Chechnya.

Allah willing, it was the first but not the last operation of the slaves to Allah from Kataib al-Khoul against the kafirs' air force. Starting from September 11, 2006, the sky of Ossetia stopped, as we vowed earlier, being a safe airspace for the kafirs.

Thank Almighty Allah. At the same time, the Mujahideen from Kataib al-Khoul warn that we never planned and are not planning attacks against the civil aviation. Allah willing, we shall shoot down only military and reconnaissance aircraft.

And in conclusion, we praise Almighty Allah, Merciful to His pious slaves and Rigorous in punishing the impious..."
