Iraqi Mujahideen fighters clashed with US troops in al-Hadithah, about 220km northwest of Baghdad on three separate occasions on Monday, September 19. Mujahideen launched three surprise attacks with pipe rockets and medium machine guns on US troops in as-Subhani, al-Haqlaniyah, and in the middle of al-Hadithah proper, killing five US Marines and wounding more. Two Humvees were destroyed and another disabled in the course of the fighting.
An Iraqi Mujahideen bomb exploded by a US military patrol in Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad. The bomb, which had been planted on one of the unpaved dirt roads that go around the city went off by a US patrol Monday, inflicting heavy damage on a US personnel carrier. The blast killed at least two US soldiers and wounded four more of the men who were aboard the personnel carrier.
Iraqi Mujahideen forces fired three S5K rockets into the US military base in the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji on Sunday evening. The rockets scored direct hits on the American-occupied facility. The sound of violent explosions going off inside the base could be hear by local people .
Iraqi Mujahideen forces fired three Katyusha rockets into the US-occupied al-Bakr Air Base near Yathrib, about 70km north of Baghdad, at dawn Moonday. The barrage set off explosions and sent plumes of thick smoke rising over the base, dubbed "Camp Anaconda" by the Americans.
Iraqi Mujahideen forces fired five 82mm mortar rounds into the headquarters jointly occupied by US and Iraqi puppet forces in the city of al-Latifiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad, Monday morning. The mortar rounds scored direct hits on the headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky as explosions shook the area.
