The Mafkarat al-Islam news agency reports the following attacks on US invaders in Iraq carried out on Tuesday, September 19.
An Iraqi Mujahideen bomb exploded by a US patrol as it drove down a road leading to an American check point at the western entrance to the city of Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad. The bomb totally destroyed a US armored vehicle, killing or wounding all the Americans aboard (usually four).
A high-explosive Iraqi Mujahideen bomb that had been placed in a sewer drain in the middle of a street blew up under a US military vehicle in the at-Tahrir section of Ba‘qbuah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad. The blast totally destroyed the American vehicle. In all four US troops were killed in the bombing.
Iraqi Mujahideen forces fired seven 82mm mortar rounds into the US military base located north of Ba‘qubah, setting off seven explosions one after the other inside the facility. Plumes of smoke then billowed up from the base.
Iraqi Mujahideen forces fired five 82mm mortar rounds into the US consulate in al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad. Plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the building.
An Iraqi fida'i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a patrol of four US Humvees in al-Mawsil´. The blast destroyed the Humvee, killing all the Americans aboard it, estimated to be four soldiers.
In al-Mawsil, two bombs that had been planted near each other in on place by the side of the road blew up simultaneously by a US Bradley armored vehicle, totally destroying it and killing the five American troops who were inside. Two of the soldiers were burned to charcoal inside the vehicle.
An Iraqi Mujahideen bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Matahin (flour mills) area of south of al-Mawsil. The bomb completely destroyed a Humvee, killing for wounding all the Americans aboard (four or five).
