Caucasus Marks Anniversary of Heroic Mujahideen Raid on Nalchik

This day, last year, Mujahideen of the Jammat Yarmuk belonging to the Kabardino-Balkarian Sector of the Caucasus Front of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria's Armed Forced launched at 9.14 am an assault on Nalchik, the capital of the Russian-held Caucasian Muslim state of Kabardino-Balkaria. The raid targeted as many as 20 of the city's main army, the FSB, puppet police,  occupation and puppet "security structures", the Kavkaz Center Russian-language service reported.

217 Mujahideen took part in the raid. Approximately 140 Russian and puppet troops and policemen were killed and more than  160 wounded in this large-scale military operation.

After successfully completing their combat tasks, the main forces of the Mujahideen withdrew from the city at 11.15 local time. In all, 37 Mujahideen martyred in the assault on the city (Shahideen, insha Allah).

The later martyred Amir Addallah Shamil Abu Indris (Shamil Basayev), Shaheed, insha Allah, said in a special statement that that Russians had gotten wind of the forthcoming Mujahideen military operation in Nalchik and moved tank convoys in the city on October 11-12, 2005. But at the Shura Council meeting the Mujahideen decided to continue with the operation as planned.

Some Russian and pro-Russian, e.g. US Radio Liberty, media also marked the anniversary of the Heroic Assault.

Radio Liberty gave false Russian figures on the casualties pursuing the US government policy of appeasement of the Russian aggressor against the freedom-loving Muslim peoples in the Caucasus.

On their part, Western media including Reuters and the AP continues to spread Russian lies claiming that large-scale military operations of the Chechen Mujahideen had purportedly "stopped long time ago", preventing readers and listeners in the West to have truthful and reliable information about the heroic struggle of the Caucasian Muslim peoples against the Russian invaders and occupiers.
