On Friday night, Iraqi fighters ambushed a US and Iraqi puppet patrol in the Talul al-Baj area east of ash-Sharqat, about 322km north of Baghdad. A source in the Jaysh al-Mujahideen group, which carried out the attack, said that the Mujahideen attacked the column from two directions and completely destroyed three US tanks and a vehicle belonging to the puppet Scorpion Brigade, killing all the troops aboard. The source said that the bodies of the dead were still lying by the side of the road.
