Russians revoked permission for the Hong Kong Oasis Airlines to fly over Russia because the documents the airline submittedpurportedly didn't satisfy their requirements, "The airline will have to negotiate with Russian authorities again before its next flight is allowed to fly over Russia", the Russians said.
The flight was grounded for more than 24 hours. After that, the Russians cleared Oasis for omly one-off overflight to London.
The airline said the return flight today would change its route to avoid passing over Russia.
"The flight will fly across mid-Asian countries instead of Russia, yet the departure and arrival time would not change," an Oasis spokesman said.
Oasis chairman Raymond Lee Cho-min said the incident had been totally beyond his expectations, since every document they obtained from Russia had been "positive".
"We have learned a precious lesson from it," he said. He added that Oasis was still waiting for an official explanation from the Russian aviation service, the South China Morning Post reported.
