A spokesman of the Military Committee Headquarters of the CRI State Defense Council Majlisus Shura confirmed earlier Russian reports that a Russian armored infantry fighting vehicle in a military convoy was blown up near the village of Berkat Yurt on November 10, 2006, according to a report from the Daymohk news agency.
The attack was carried out by Mujahideen from the detachment Assad, the spokesman added. The vehicle was disabled. The Mujahideen didn't manage to tally the exact nature and the extent of Russian casualties.
The Mujahideen returned to their base without having suffered any losses.
The detachment Assad is a unit of the North-Western Front of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria's Armed Forces under the command of Colonel Abubakar Elmuradov, the report says.
Earlier, the Russians claimed that purportedly only 2 Russian soldiers had been wounded in this attack.
