Are Pakistani Soldiers Munafiqs Or Just Poor Souls Forced To Kill To Make A Living?

Publication time: 29 November 2006, 18:37

It has been confirmed, as JUS initially reported from inside sources, that the bombing of a Pakistani Madrassa last month in Bajaur Agency that killed 82 students was carried out by the United States, with assistance from Pakistani soldiers. A key aide to so-called Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, whose name has not been disclosed, has now reported to mainstream press that indeed the US was behind the massacre.

⌠We thought it would be less damaging if we said we did it rather than the US, the aid said. ⌠But there was a lot of collateral damage and weve requested the Americans not to do it again, the Times Online reported November 26, 2006.

This is the same rhetoric that came following another massacre of Muslims just months before and raises the question of whether these and similar actions carried out against Muslims by Pakistani soldiers at the request of their US puppet leader in this so-called Islamic Republic warrant the claim that we have made against them; namely that they are Munafiqs (hypocrites) clearly outside the fold of Islam and in fact lower than the Kufir in the eyes of Allah.

This issue has been extensively looked at in recent times due to the Pakistani soldiers increasing role in killing their Brethren and especially in light of misleading Fatwas by several of their corrupted scholars (The Beggars). More than one corrupt scholar has said that soldiers in the armies or security forces of a ruler are forced to obey orders. This is nothing more than an effort misled those who have questioned the legitimacy of Pakistani soldiers killing fellow Muslims.

This excuse does not hold water as you will soon see.

From the seven conditions of Shahadah, we know that one must meet all requirements of Islam in his heart, utter what is in his heart by his tongue, and implement that with his limps. One must also have no doubt about Allah's Command and His promise (of victory) to the believers or His guarantee of sustenance. No one can say, ⌠I cannot leave my job in the military; what will I do for a living? The following verses from the Quran clearly tear this argument to shreds:

"When angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their souls, they say: "In what (plight) were ye?" They reply: "Weak and oppressed were we in the earth." They say: "Was not the earth of Allahs spacious enough for you to move yourselves away (From evil)?" Such men will find their abode in Hell; what an evil refuge!" Quran 4:97

"Couldst thou but see when the wrong-doers will be made to stand before their Lord, throwing back the word (of blame) on one another! Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers! The arrogant ones will say to those who had been despised: "Was it we who kept you back from Guidance after it reached you? Nay, rather, it was ye who transgressed. Those who had been despised will say to the arrogant ones: "Nay! It was a plot (of yours) by day and by night: Behold! Ye (constantly) ordered us to be ungrateful to Allah and to attribute equals to Him!" They will declare (their) repentance when they see the Penalty: We shall put yokes on the necks of the Unbelievers; it would only be requital for their (ill) Deeds." Quran 34:31-33

In July, at a local mosque in Pishin, Balochistan, a town located 50 km west of Quetta towards Afghanistan, the head imam Mullah Humayun Achakzai was brave enough to issue a Fatwa during a sermon to permit every true Muslim to wage Jihad on the Pakistani armed forces and government officials.

⌠Whenever a Pakistani soldier picks up arms against a Muslim he has made a decision to take the path of a non-Muslim. Therefore, he has declared through his actions, and not words, that he has resigned from being a Muslim. Even if he practices the tenants of Islam, the truth is that he is now a Munafiq (hypocrite). According to our Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), a Munafiq is worse than a Kafir . The punishment for a Munafiq is death, he declared.

"The Day that their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire, they will say, "Woe to us! Would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger! And they would say, "Our Lord! We obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us as to the (right) Path." Quran 33:66-67

In their Tafsirs, Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari said, ⌠Chiefs means their rulers and leaders while "great ones" mean their scholars.

"Such were the 'Ad People; they rejected the Signs of their Lord and Cherisher, disobeyed His messengers and followed the command of every powerful, obstinate transgressor. And they were pursued by a Curse in this life and on the Day of Judgment. Ah! Behold! For the 'Ad rejected their Lord and Cherisher! Ah! Behold! Removed (from sight) were 'Ad the people of Hud!" Quran Quran 11:59-60

No Man Has Two Hearts

The actions of the Pakistani Army soldiers are often put down to strategy in local circles, another effort to justify their actions. In conversation after conversation with Pakistanis who fear authority more than Allah, they claim that while it appears on the outside that the soldiers are supporting the Kafir, that this is only a strategic endeavor in order to prevent further damage to the Muslims. One of the key misconceptions is that the ISI is providing support to Afghanistans Mujahideen. While on occasion they may be hoping for some appeasement, there is none; they are doing so as Munafiqs as Allah tells us very clearly.

"Allah has not made for any man two hearts in his (one) body..." Quran 33:4

While the ISI supported the Afghan Mujahideen in the previous war with Russia, this is not true today. If the Pakistani soldiers openly supported the Mujahideen, along with other so-called ⌠closet believers, would this war not have long been over? The fact that Pakistani soldiers are killing Muslims clearly places them outside of Islam.

The best direct evidence is found in the verses describing the action of Pharaoh and his forces. Allah used the Arabic word "Junood" in all of these verses. The word "Junood" specifically means armed forces, police, and security forces that are used to advance and protect a ruler's policy.

Take a look at the unmistakable verdict in the following verses:

"..but they followed the command of Pharaoh and the command of Pharaoh was no right (guide)." Quran 11:97

"And they are followed by a curse in this (life) and on the Day of Judgment: and woeful is the gift which shall be given (unto them)!" Quran 11:99

"And he (Pharaoh) was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason; He and his forces thought that they would not have to return to Us! So We seized him and his forces, and We flung them into the sea. Now behold! What was the end of those who did wrong! And we made them (but) leaders inviting to the Fire; and on the Day of Judgment no help shall they find." Quran 28:39-41

"So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame." Quran 51:40

Remember the rule of "protecting the possible"? Allah used this rule to protect the innocent throughout the Quran except in the case of describing the status of forces of the tyrants who are fighting Him, His religion, and the Mujahideen. Allah disposed of this rule to make it clear that there is no excuse whatsoever for anyone to carry a weapon and fight the Shariah of Allah and those who want to establish it.

The ⌠Obeying Orders Or Being Weak Excuses

Ibn Taymiyah was asked the same question during the time the Mongols overran Muslim lands and rounded up thousands of ordinary Muslims and force them to join their forces to fight Muslim forces. Ibn Taymiyah said, ⌠The least a Muslim should do in that situation is to render his weapon dysfunctional.

Please note that he said "the least". This means that a Muslim is expected to do more than that.

Ibn Taymiyah went on to demonstrate how someone could make his weapon dysfunctional. He showed his people how to break the tip of the sword, how to strike a rock with the sword several times to break it or make lose its sharpness, and how to burry it or lose it. Ibn Taymiyah made it very clear that under no circumstances should a Muslim hide behind the "obeying orders or being weak excuses and harm another Muslim who is fighting to establish the religion of Allah or who is fighting to defeat and expel an occupier who is also an enemy of Allah.

Any way you want to look at it, a harsh day awaits the Pakistani forces that obey their corrupt leader and support the Kafirs against the Muslims.

Allah says:

"Is then one who is on a clear (Path) from his Lord, no better than one to whom the evil of his conduct seems pleasing, and such as follow their own lusts?" Quran 47:14

"This because they followed that which called forth the Wrath of Allah, and they hated Allah's good pleasure; so He made their deeds of no effect" Quran 47:28

"Then would those who are followed clear themselves of those who follow (them); they would see the penalty, and all relations between them would be cut off. And those who followed would say: "If only we had one more chance, we would clear ourselves of them, as they have cleared themselves of us." Thus will Allah show them (The fruits of) their deeds as (nothing but) regrets. Nor will there be a way for them out of the Fire." Quran 2:166-167

The evidence is plenty and plain for all to read in the Glorious Quran. It is not hidden from any of us, nor can we pick and choose what portions we want to believe if we are Muslims. Indeed, the Pakistani soldiers have well earned the description of Munafiqs during the past five years of Americas war on Islam. While some may think these are hard times for them, their harshest days are yet to come when they face Almighty Allah to answer for their actions.
