According to a report from a Kavkaz Center correspondent in Europe
citing a telephone talk with relatives in Chechnya late Thursday, December 1, 2006, a Russian military
convoy has been attacked several kilometers south-west of the district center
of Shatoi. Witnesses said that 5 to 7 Russian invaders had been killed and a
great number of them had been wounded in the Mujahideen action. At least 2
Russian military vehicles were destroyed. According to the sounds of shoots,
bursts and explosions, the Mujahideen used anti-tank grenade launchers and
machine-guns, the witnesses said.
According to Radio Liberty, the military operation took place on
Thursday at 2 pm local time. Mujahideen attacked the convoy of Russian internal
forces troops attached to the Russian interior ministry with small arms and
subbarrel grenade launchers.
The invaders claim that 2 of their troops were only severely wounded and
a civilian woman was moderately contused. Russians allege that she lives in the
village of Borzoi of the Shatoi district and
incidently happened to be in the attack area.
According to Russian news reports, the attack was carried out by
Mujahideen under the command of Amir Said-Emin Dadaev.
No information is available about possible losses among the Mujahideen.
