The head of Russia's intelligence service that murdered the Russian defecror Litvinenko with polonium in London met briefly with senior Japanese officials in Tokyo on Friday while on a trip "to watch the Russian team compete in the volleyball world championships", Japan's Foreign Ministry said.
The top Russian killer and terrorist Patrushev, who is both director of the FSB and "president of the Russian Volleyball Federation", called on Foreign Minister Taro Aso and Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shiozaki, the ministry said in a statement.
Japan's conservative Sankei newspaper said in its Internet edition that Patrushev also planned to meet with police and coast guard officials during his visit, the AP reported.
