According to Russian news reports, a base of paramilitary Russian
interior ministry troops near the Dagestani village of Gherzel on the Chechen
border was set ablaze late Saturday, November 2, 2006, at approximately 8.30 pm
local time. At least 15 firearms in an ammunition depot were destroyed, the
reports said. The Russians claim that the fire was caused by a faulty furnace.
The invaders never acknowledge
sabotage operations against their military bases.
