9 Russian Troops Killed in Chechnya

According to  a report from the Chechen Military Command for the Kavkaz Center news agency, the Chechen Mujahideen exploded an landmine at a Russian armored pesonnel carrier on a road leading to the district center on the side of the village Dargo in the district of Vedeno on December 15, 2006. As the result of the operation, 2 Russian troops were killed and 5 others were wounded. No further details on the operation were reported.

 

Also on December 15, 2006, the Mujahideen exploded a landmine at a Russian reconnaissance unit, killing 1 and wounding 2 other Russian soldiers.

 

A mobile group of the Chechen Mujahideed armed with machine and submachine guns attacked invaders military vehicles in the district of Shatoi on December 16, 2006. According to radio intercept, 4 Russian troops were killed and at least one other was severely wounded in the action. The precise area of the operation was not mentioned in the report.

 

Another 2 Russian soldiers were killed in the Nozhai Yurt district on December 17, 2006. A group of Russian occupation special-purpose troops was exploded then on a landmine in a forest-covered area near the village of Yalkhoi Mokhck. No further details of the operation were mentioned in the report. The Mujahideen suffered no casualties.
