The United Nations secretary-general has expressed concern that US air strikes in southern Somalia could increase hostilities and harm civilians.

Ban Ki-moon's warning came as The Associated Press news agency reported more US attacks on somalians on Tuesday.

A US intelligence official said that five to 10 people were killed in the latest attack. But somalian Islamic source informed about 70 civilians killed by US jets.

Meanwhile KC correspondent reported: Around 7pm Tuesday night 3 heavy explosion took place in the KM4 area with heavy gun fire ensuing afterwards, residence say the explosions shook the whole neighbourhood, the target was the only ethiopian military camp in the city, their other concentrations are the airport and the sea port, no news about the casulties so far but soon to be reported.

America joins the war

Islamiń sources and Afmadow residents confirm to KC about the battles that is raging in the mountains wooded area of the Jubba regions. A resident who contacted Mogadishu confirmed that around 70 civilian were massacred in bombardment, he further stated that the air bombardment has been ongoing since Sunday for 3 days, after a costly defeat of the ethiopian troops in the region.

Almost hundreds of ethiopian and puppet troops lost their life in the battles and this gave the reason in America joining the battle directly, one resident speaking to the BBC Somali service said that "there was huge battle that had been going on for 9 days here and air assault for 3 days" and today was the worsted, "they know where the Islamic clerics are, they are not here so why are they killing as for the last 9 days", he said

The Jubba regions is one of the first regions that the Islamic movements led by Sheikh Hassan Turki established bases in the late 90s, its mountains and densely wooded enabling soldiers to easily hide. Many residents confirmed that it was Shiekh Hassan Turki's forces that led the slaughter of enemy troops the last 9 days.

Most relatives of the head of the Islamic force and residents in regions confirmed to Islamic sources confirmed that the heads of the movements are unharmed in bombing and are safe and well.
