Around 15 people have been killed, 5 top generals have been severely wounded and nearly a thousand residents fled Mogadishu in the past 10 days of continuing violence.

In the past week gunmen have been laying siege to the presidential palace on nightly basis firing mortars and RBGs inflicting casualties on many soldiers in turn the "government" troops and Ethiopian forces retaliated with heavy artillery fire coming from the palace compound killing scores of civilians daily prompting the civilians too flee the city, this tactic by the "government" was also used by the former president Siad Barre during the civil war in the early 90s, gunmen have also been attacking the sea port and the international airport. deputy defense minister of the puppet government accused the injured and killed civilians of being the rebels themselves on national TV outraging many Somalis in the country as well as abroad, he accused the deputy head of the Islamic courts sheikh Abdu Khadir of hiding in the city and organizing the rebellion, the clan elders of sheikh Abdul Khadir intervened and denied the accusation on the sheikh.

A grenade was thrown at house of the "trade minister" in the capital and a brief gun fight took place between his body guards and mojaheds in what appeared to be an assassination attempt Islamic movements vowed to kill all of those responsible for brining their arch enemy Ethiopia into the capital

In the port city of Kismayo in the Jubba regions, in a pro peacekeepers rally gunmen threw hand grandees on the government and Ethiopian generals who were speaking at the rally  injuring all of them, the soldiers fired into the crowd killing 5 civilians, the generals were flown back Ethiopia for urgent medical aid, rivals tribes who belong to the Somali generals accused each other and threatened a conflict on each other on national radio.

Many residents in Mogadishu confirm that most of the Islamic courts have know reorganized themselves in the city, and the "government" is only holding around 5 of the 13 districts in Mogadishu while the other 8 is being held by clans and soldiers of the former Islamic courts.

Somalis living abroad specially religious clerics are openly sending money for funding the Islamic movements in the country, as well as the current rebellion in Ethiopia. Around 2 million Somalis live around the world many in the middle east, Europe and north America.

3 British Somalis have been released by the British government after the puppet government and Ethiopia could not prove their participation in the war, 1 American national is currently facing terrorism charges after he was captured by Kenyan forces while crossing the borders  he is not know to be ethnic Somali rising the suspicion that he took part in the conflict.
