U.S. helicopter crashes in north of Baghdad

A U.S. helicopter crashed in north of Baghdad on Wednesday, the Qatar-based al-Jazeera satellite channel reported.

A U.S. military Black Hawk helicopter crashed in the Nibaiearea in north of Baghdad, an Iraqi official source was quoted by the channel as saying.

The helicopter might be shot down by insurgent fire, it said.

The U.S. military did not confirm the incident.
