Fatima Tlisova: “I am not acquainted with authors of article in the Sunday Times”

Publication time: 12 March 2007, 16:31

On March 11, The Sunday Times (UK) published an article about a Russian reporter, "an expert on the Caucasus region" who asked for political asylum in the United States after she was poisoned in the homeland. Some Russian media supposed the article is about Head of Regnum North Caucasus Bureau Fatima Tlisova. Below we are publishing Fatima Tlisova's statement on the article:

"In connection with the article of The Sunday Times and rumors that surrounded the publication in Russian media, I would like to state the following. I did not communicate with The Sunday Times reporters. I do intend to spend some time at one of US universities; for this aim Regnum News Agency granted leave to me to continue my studying. However, I see my further work only in Caucasus. I do not know who and what is behind the publication in The Sunday Times and persistent attempts to connect it with my name."
