Somali puppet president and Mogadishu's Deputy mayor both escaped fatal assassination attempts that killed at least 8 people in Mogadishu this week as further 20 people where killed around the city and many more civilians fled town.

 

Gunmen receiving information that Somali warlord turned traitor president Abdullahi Yusuf reached the capital for the first time in 4 weeks, staged a night assault on the presidential palace firing several mortar rounds on the palace, a brief fire fight took place resulting in the death of civilians in their homes.

 

Further more in what appears to be a new Technique, gunmen detonated an infrared controlled bomb on a convoy that was carrying Mogadishu's deputy mayor mr Shaawey (picture) two of his bodyguard were killed and he was rushed to hospital but survived.

 

The UN reported that at least now 40,000 civilians have fled Mogadishu since the Islamic courts left the city, as daily gang killings increased and many business people have been killed, while others took most of their assists abroad, Mogadishu has returned to a nightmare only seen in the early days of the civil wore.

 

- In Kismayo in the Jubba regions 5 dead bodies have been recovered from the sea shore.

 

-In Baidoa the puppet parliament gave 1 month for the 42 former Islamic loyalist parliamentarians led by the former parliament speaker Shariif Adan, to return from their self imposed exile or be fired.
