At least twenty Russian soldiers were killed and injured in a successful ambush that was carried out by the group of Commander "Khairallah" on the main road between Vedeno and Serzhen-Yurt against Russian convoy consisting of ten vehicles (including Mines' Sweeper) that was heading towards Vedeno.
The ambush began to trap detonated explosives under the vehicles and the subsequent heavy barrage of RPG shells and machine guns which continued for nearly half an hour then the group withdrew to safety without injuries.
