Heavy shelling continues in somalia

Headquarter of Daryeel Bulsho Guud which is one the most popular local relief agencies in Somalia has been widely damaged by heavy shelling.

 

The headquarter of this relief agency which is located near Towfiq intersection have been under constant shelling till yesterday while inside the building, some staff of the agency including four wounded personnel are still trapped.

 

"The shelling to our building is still continuing while some of our personnel are still in the building including four staff who were injured in the shelling of yesterday" said one official.

 

The official elaborated that it is extremely hard to get the trapped staff out of the building as the shelling is relentless

He also told that the two upper flours of the building are on ablaze as the infrastructure and is excessively damaged.

 

"Our office equipments have all been destroyed, also the electric engines destroyed, the damage can't be estimated" he added. Daryeel Bulsho Guud was one of the major relief agencies extending relief operations to the people in Mogadishu and its outskirts, by donating medicines to local hospitals ad also distributing other aid such as safe drinking water to people who fled to the outskirts of the capital.

 

The relief agency has recently expanded its emergency relief response to the surrounding regions of the capital where it delivered much needed aid.
