Zionists use poisonous gas against Palestinians

Publication time: 8 May 2007, 10:29

In Nablus city, a number of Palestinian citizens, including women and children fainted when Israeli occupation soldiers manning the Bathan roadblock, north of the city, fired teargas canisters and live and rubber-coated bullets at hundreds of Palestinian citizens waiting to cross the checkpoint.

According to eyewitnesses, the zionist troops unreasonably assaulted swarms of Palestinian citizens stranded at the checkpoint with teargas canisters, paying no attention to tens of Palestinian women and children among the crowds. Hospital sources and doctors in Nablus city affirmed that the gas fired at the crowds was of new and dangerous kind as symptoms of fainting, severe headache, and continuous vomiting appeared on the victims.

Hundreds of Palestinian schoolchildren, medical workers, and employees cross the barrier on daily basis and remain waiting for several hours before the soldiers allow them to pass. In addition, the Israeli occupation soldiers inflicted severe wounds and bruises all over the body of Palestinian minor Iyad Al-Anati, 17 after they saw photo of secretary-general of the Lebanese Hezbollah party on his cellular phone.

Anati was on his way home in Halhool city, north of Al-Khalil. According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists beat the teenager with butts of their rifles and kicked him with their military boots that caused him to collapse with his face drenched in blood. Few hours later, the soldiers allowed Palestinian ambulance workers to take the boy to the hospital.

Also Palestinian medical sources have affirmed that zionist invaders and occupants shot and wounded Palestinian girl Worood Al-Ajloni, 16, in Al-Khalil city as she was standing at the doorstep of her house Monday morning. The victim was immediately rushed by her relatives to the city's hospital as she sustained a bullet in the lower part of her back. He condition was described as "moderate".

The girl, according to local witnesses was standing before her house at the city's southern suburb of Jabal Johar when the zionist invaders shooting at Palestinian youths hit her with the bullet. A number of towns and villages in Al-Khalil governorate were raided and ransacked by large numbers of occupant troops that also installed a number of temporary barriers at entrances of those towns.

For its part, the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas Movement, has affirmed that the QB fighters along with the rest of the Palestinian fighters were ready to block any IOF adventure into Gaza Strip than any time before. The QB remarks were apparently made in reaction to threats made by the disgraced Israeli war minister Amir Peretz of invading Gaza Strip.

Abu Obaida, the QB spokesman, charged that Peretz's threats were made to bail him out of the dilemma that was brought about by the Winograd report which blamed him and Israeli premier Ehud Olmert for the defeat in Lebanon. "We are more prepared to thwart any zionist attempt to invade Gaza Strip than anytime ever as we will fight with all available means and we will fight to the last drop of our blood", said Abu Obaida in a press statement he made Monday.
