503rd regiment attacked by Mujahideen in Ingushetia

Kavkaz Center's source reports with reference to sources in the command of the Caucasian Front (Commander Amir Magas) that a Mujahideen forces on 5 July entered the village of Troitskaya, where the 503rd Motorized Rifle Regiment has its base, and attacked it.

According to the source, the attack was carried out from three sides.The Mujahideen used mortars, grenade dischargers and heavy machine-guns. The attack lasted for about an hour and a half..

At least 13 occupiers were killed, according to information received from radio interception. About 25 were wounded. The numbers could be considerably higher, according to the command, since control observers reported that at least 10 charges hit the living quarters of the regiment barracks.

It was reported that 4 soldiers on the Mujahideen side were lightly wounded. The operation was carried out by a 70-strong subdivision of Mujahideen from the Caucasian Front, who were prepared and trained for quick raids in the rear of the enemy and for the assault operations.

The command of the occupiers declared that there were no killed or wounded. Meanwhile, local sources and Russian media report that the entrances to the encampment of the occupation regiment are blocked at present, and that ambulances are leaving it.
