On the photo: Salahuddin (Artur), he became a Shahid (in sha’a Allah) in the gunbattle in Tabasaran district 1 Muharram 1429 (09.01.2008). The photo was taken 9 Muharram (17.01.2008), 8 days after the Martyrdom.
During his funeral many brothers witnessed signs from the Allah, the Most High: Salahuddin's body had the smell of musk, condition of the body was like that of a living person, and on the night before the funeral blood came out of his wounds.

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, peace and blessings of Allah be upon the seal of Prophets and Messengers, Muhammad, upon his family and all his righteous companions! Whomever Allah guides, cannot be led astray and whomever Allah misguides, none can guide him. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped except Allah alone, Who has no associates, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. To proceed...
Allah, the Most High, says in the Qur’an:
وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ أَمْوَاتًا بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ * فَرِحِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلاَّ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
"Think not of those who are killed in the way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision. They rejoice in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty and rejoice for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind (not yet martyred) that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve" (Surat Al ‘Imran, 3:169-170).
As a result of the gunbattles from 30 Dhu al-Hijjah to 2 Muharram 1429 (8-10 January 2008) against gangs of kuffar and local murtaddin in Tabasaran district of Wilayah Dagestan of the Emirate of Caucasus, by the will of Allah, six Mujahideen from the Derbent jama‘ah of the Dagestan Front of the Armed Forces of the Emirate of Caucasus became Shuhada’ (in sha’a Allah): Namik, Hojali, Abu Bakr (from Zizik), Artur, ‘Umar and Muhammad (Rasim).
Obviously outnumbered and in the -20°C freezing temperature, the brothers were persistent during the fierce battles against the slaves of taghut. According to kuffar's reports, Abu Bakr was granted Shahadah (in sha’a Allah) first (30 Dhu al-Hijjah). Then Salahuddin became the Shahid (in sha’a Allah) (1 Muharram). Other four Mujahideen, with the help from Allah, have managed to break through the cordon, and despite the freezing weather, walked 15 km to the village of Gelinbatan.
Kuffar lost their trail, but the owner of the house where the brothers found shelter, betrayed them and alerted the authorities. Allah humiliated that misguided one: during the siege his house was completely destroyed by kuffar.
We are pointing out to Muslims, that insolence of kuffar became limitless. Not only brothers and sisters in Derbent can't securely go to a mosque for a Jum‘ah prayer, but in addition all praying rooms in the town were closed.
Kuffar began to fight openly against the Religion of Allah, without shyness and any guise. If earlier this war was waged under the guide of protecting the so called "traditional Islam", then today kuffar openly tell to youth not to spread Islam and to renounce it.
The humiliation reached such extent that youth are afraid to attend funerals of the brothers who became Shuhada’ in Tabasaran. Majority of Muslims sit in their homes, waiting for their houses to be searched once more, during the time when kuffar and murtaddin have united to fight against Muslims.
Allah, the Most High, says in the Qur’an:
وَقَاتِلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَافَّةً كَمَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ كَافَّةً وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ
"And fight against the mushrikin collectively as they fight against you collectively. But know that Allah is with those who are al-Muttaqun (the pious)" (Surat al-Tawbah, 9:36).
For many people the news about the brothers who became Shuhada’ (in sha’a Allah) was unexpected. Many people knew them personally. And while some Muslims in the town were busy by arguments about the Sunnahs, some were busy making business and others were occupied by accusing everybody and everything in infidelity, these six Mujahideen from the Derbent jama‘ah became Shuhada’ (in sha’a Allah) carrying out the orders of Allah.
They did not regret that they left their parents, wives, and children; they were not afraid of harsh conditions of life in mountains; they did not fear forces of kuffar that would be thrown against them. They carried out their fard (obligation).
Allah, the Most High, says in the Qur’an:
كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَى أَن تُحِبُّوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ وَاللّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ
"Jihad is ordained for you though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know" (Surat al-Baqarah, 2:216).
Allah, the Most High, says in the Qur’an:
إِنَّ اللّهَ اشْتَرَى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الجَنَّةَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللّهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُوا بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُمْ بِهِ وَذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
"Verily, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties for (the price) that theirs shall be Paradise. They fight in Allah's Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success" (Surat al-Tawbah, 9:111).
We remind our brothers and sisters about the necessity to sacrifice for the sake of Allah, on His straight path, your property and yourselves. We remind you about the order of Allah not to fear kuffar, but to fear only the Creator, the Most High, to fear the wrath of Allah the Almighty!
Because Allah, the Most High, says in the Qur’an:
قُلْ إِنْ كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمْ وَأَمْوَالٌ اقْتَرَفْتُمُوهَا وَتِجَارَةٌ تَخْشَوْنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَاكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنَ اللّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَجِهَادٍ فِي سَبِيلِهِ فَتَرَبَّصُوا حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ اللّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ وَاللّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ
"Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His Cause, then wait until Allah brings about His Decision. And Allah guides not the people who are al-fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah)" (Surat al-Tawbah, 9:24).
الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ الطَّاغُوتِ فَقَاتِلُوا أَوْلِيَاءَ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّ كَيْدَ الشَّيْطَانِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا
"Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of taghut. So fight you against the friends of shaytan; ever feeble indeed is the plot of shaytan" (Surat al-Nisa’, 3:76).
Allah promises either Victory or Martyrdom to those who will strive on His path, and we believe in this promise!
