Sulim Yamadayev hopes that Ramzan Kadyrov did not kill his brother

Publication time: 29 September 2008, 23:19

The ringleader of "Vostok" gang Sulim Yamadayev said that his brother Ruslan Yamadayev had no blood feud or business clashes that could have led to the assassination. At the same time, Sulim Yamadayev specified that he doesn't believe in Kadyrov's involvement either. He said this in his interview to "Kommersant" newspaper.

We would like to remind that that earlier Sulim Yamadayev said that it was Kadyrov who killed his brother and that he would take revenge after the holy month of Ramadan.

"People whom I trust told me that my brother had probably been killed to make me go to Chechnya.  They said: As soon as I appear in Chechnya, I would be killed".

At the same time, as it turned out, Sulim Yamadayev thinks highly of his person. He told reporters that his elimination "would lead to very bad consequences".

According to him it is not a matter of blood feud.

"We do not have blood feud. We, like Ramzan and federal troops have enemies. These enemies are the Wahhabis. Everybody knows that I have many enemies. I am, since 1998, waging war againt Wahhabis, and now many of them are in the service of law enforcement agencies, they have IDs, weapons and they have chance to go anywhere in the country. According to custom, blood feud should be declared by the representatives of one clan to another. This is a big procedure. Nobody has come to us and nobody has declared us a blood feud. Only once, back in 1995, one person was died, it was an accident, gun fired accidentally. His relatives had forgiven me long ago, they knew that it was a accident".

Yamadayev also noted that his brother Ruslan have not had any business for which he would be killed:

"All our business is in Chechnya. All our companies are legitimate, they had been recorded on our families there. They are: a car market, a construction company, and a concrete factory. But since April, everything is stopped. Our relatives have continuously being threatened, checks are being conducted, so people simply cannot work".

"I have never heard that Khalid (Ruslan) has business in Moscow. Think yourself, if you live in Moscow: if he had such a business here, would he travel alone, without security? Yamadayev explained.

The car which his brother was driving on the day of the murder belonged to Sulim, who in turn gave this car "to Ruslan early spring, and for the last six months he has been it driving alone. It is hard to believe that they mistook him with me. They wanted to kill Ruslan. He knew that he is being watched, but he did not pay much attention to it. He thought has been watched because it could have lead them to me".

Sulim Yamadayev refuted the version that the murder is linked to the conflict with Ramzan Kadyrov.

"Many people tell me Ramzan did it. But I don't want to believe that Ramzan went as far as killing the members of my family. I knew his father. I was like a son to Ahmat-Hadji. We are from one clan. How could he have done it? The murders like that are very dangerous in Chechnya. And Ramzan is well aware of it", the ringleader of "Vostok" gang tried to find an excuse for Kadyrov.

It should be mentioned that earlier in the interview to "MK", another brother of Yamadayev, Isa said that the family knows who is the murderer and who organized the assassination. According to him Ruslan Yamadayev has been killed by the order of Ramzan Kadyrov. And the organizer of the assassination is Kadyrov's trustee Adam Demilkhanov (nickname "Palach/Butcher"), - a former driver of Salman Raduyev and the ringleader of "Oil regiment" gang, who 2 years ago shot a ringleader of "Gorets" gang Movladi Baysarov in Moscow. Now Adam Demilkhanov is a member of the State Duma of Russia.

Isa Yamadayev also said that Kadyrov has a list of persons to be eliminated in which his brother Ruslan is number three.

Meanwhile Demilkhanov after meeting with public accusations against himself and Kadyrov in a special interview on the local TV in his turn accused Sulim Yamadayev of cowardice and thus indirectly confirmed suspicions of the Yamadayev's family. Demilkhanov also gave a hint to anyone who dares to confront Kadyrov, that their end might happen to be the same as of Ruslan Yamadayev's which has been assasinated in the centre of Moscow.
