Police Officer Wounded in Iriston

Police officer was seriously wounded Wednesday evening in North Ossetia . Aslan Kachmazov, a member of the N. Ossetian Interior Ministry's (MVD) Criminal Investigations Department (UGRO), was shot near his garage in Alagir, 40 km from Vladikavkaz. Attackers used a silenced weapon, police told RIA Novosti. Kachmazov was hospitalized with four gunshot wounds, police told ITAR-TASS.

Kachmazov is a member of a team investigating killing of Gennadiy Cheldiyev, ITAR-TASS reports. Cheldiyev was the head of the analytical department of UGRO, he and his son were shot dead 1 October. At the time, Mujahideen from Jama'at Kata'ib al-Hawl claimed responsibility for elimination of Cheldiyev in a statement published by Kavkaz Center.
