
According to Turkish sources, the Turkish authorities had arrested an agent of Russian FSB, a certain Roman K., who possible involved in the murder of Special representative of the Caucasus Emirate, Musa Atayev.
The news reported by Haber Turk newspaper dated March 1, 2009 as follows:
"Russian Spy arrested when he forget to pay hotel debt
First week of September 2008. A Russian man entered Turkey through Ataturk Airport with his passport that was created by Roman K. then he settled a luxury hotel in Talimhane, Taksim.
He left without pay from the hotel. Hotel owners informed other hotels about situation. Then this event was forgotten, till Roman K. came to Taksim again end settled another hotel in there. After he gets three day in this hotel he disappeared again. This case unsettled hotels staffs, so they engaged short research and learnt two months ago Roman K. left a hotel without pay hotel debt. Then they entered his room with reserve key. They found three laptop, night sight binocular, professional camera, lens, removable harddisks, three mobile phones, 25 CD, a small agenda, a hidden camera and credit cards abstract accounts which are in the name of a Chechen citizen who settle Purtelas Hasan Efendi Sokak.
Then they called police. Police suspect about state and tell hotel staff to inform them if Roman K. return back to hotel. Soon Roman K. came back to hotel to pay his old debts when he was learnt to besiege, but police was called before. They took him and send "the prevention on terrorism agency" for interrogation. First it revealed that his identity was fake, then police discovered some information about Chechen camp in Yalova on the CDs. So Turkish police described the case as spying activity and send his file to MIT (Turkish National Intelligence Service). MIT discovered a man who arrested by coincidence is a spy who is working for SVR subordinated to Russian Foreign Intelligence Service that was established after KGB disbanded. His mission was to collecting information about Chechen who are organized in Turkey. Transcribed agent was sent back to his country by reason of visa violation."
