'Novaya Gazeta' hinted out that Maksharip Aushev was killed by Kadyrov

Publication time: 28 October 2009, 21:22

The Moscow newspaper 'Novaya Gazeta' hinted out that Maksharip Aushev, likely was killed by Kadyrov. Material by Olga Bobrova provides these facts:

"In September 2007, Aushev's son and his nephew, both are called Magomed, were kidnapped. Own investigation, which was organized by Maksharip showed that Chechen cops were involved - Urus-Martan district police department. The story became a big public outcry.

Maksharip Aushev managed to get both of them back. During his personal raid, he denounced a large underground prison in the Goity, Chechen village of Urus-Martan district, where the prisoners were being taken.

By the time when Maksharip with his private paramilitary unit visited Goity, the prison was already empty. The walls were covered with blood and spray-painted names of those killed here before.

Alive out of there got only two people - Magomed Aushevs - but out of them they were going to make "sneakers". That's when the explosives are tied to the head of the corpse, a bag put on top and then blown up so that it would be impossible to identify that person.

The journalist of "Novaya Gazeta" continues:

"After the liberation of youngsters, Maksharip tried to draw Russia's attention to the problem wanting to make a formal hearing about the clandestine prisons in Goity. He showed the personal appeal letter that he wrote to the prosecutor. However, non of the officials were interested on his independent investigation.

But Maksharip entered into a confrontation with the Chechens, moreover, very serious Chechens. The underground prison - is not a workshop for bottling singed alcohol. It needs a large patronage. A Maksharip rang the bells across the whole country about this matter.

It's worth remembering the clinch between Ingushetia and Chechnya. Kadyrov publicly chides Yunus-Bek in the fact that he is too soft. Yunus-Bek says: leave your opinion to yourself.

The last time I saw Maksharip Aushev was in the summer. We discussed the news that in Nazran, under the auspices of a joint counter-terrorist operation in the absence of the President Evkurov, the Chechen ORB-2 has housed there.

- Maybe it's a good thing if Kadyrov openly will try to brazenly come in, - said Maksharip. - Then all the Ingush people will stand shoulder to shoulder.

Meanwhile, extremely hostile attitude were between Maksharip and Chechen security forces. I recently came across the revelation of Lydia Mikhalchenko, the editor of the new site "Ingushetiya.ru":

"Maksharip, as to the editor of the site advised me: "Every time that something happens in Chechnya, stress and write directly on the title, that the situation in Chechnya is unstable, and that Chechnya is the most dangerous region in the North Caucasus."

Maksharip said that Kadyrov, "is very sensitive to it, let's at least affect him this way."

The same "Ingushetiya.ru" (which, though not belonging to Aushev, still, always gave him a platform) on 12 September this year published a message:

"The Editor of the portal received reliable information that the intelligence agencies are preparing a special operation to assassinate Maksharip Aushev. Alleged assassination is to be carried out by one of the ORB-2 in the time of Aushev's departure out of the Country. "
