C.I.A. expects World War Three in 20 years time

US intelligence agencies fear that the climate change will lead to a new global conflict, the CIA report, giving forecast of development of political situation in the world.

The report, delivered at a meeting of the Commission on the Environment in the US Senate, took as a basis for projections of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. According to them, with the present rate of growth in emissions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by the end of the XXI century, the average temperature on our planet will rise by 7 degrees.

This, in turn, will contribute to an increase in sea level by 60 centimeters.

On this backdrop, some regions of the globe will suffer from a severe drought, while others are waiting for a succession of floods. In the new climatic conditions, water will be particularly valued, so for the right to have access to life-giving water, people will fight with weapons in their hands.

Conflicts across the planet will begin which could escalate into a WW3. The first problem, according to the CIA, will begin in 20 years time.

Experts have identified a few trouble spots areas where the possibility of such conflicts is especially high. Thus, the melting of Himalayan glaciers will lead to a drastic reduction in access to drinking water in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and some regions of China.

Reducing the volume of Arctic ice could cause a conflict between Russia, Canada and the United States. And the object of the dispute would not the ice, but territorial waters in which they will turn.

Unenviable fate has the atoll of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. It is projected that it will be flooded with water, together with American military base located there.
