Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in connection with the murder in Moscow of 19-year-old Eduard Ghurtskaia, a native of Abkhazia, urges all Georgians abroad to return home.
"The President of Georgia expresses his deep condolences to the family of Georgian boy slain in Moscow, and says that Russia is continuing ethnical persecution of Georgians", Manana Manjgaladze, a spokesperson of Georgian president, said on Saturday.
According to her, the coffin with Ghurtskaia's body was delivered to Tbilisi and at the President's orders the State has assumed all costs associated with the transport of the coffin and funeral.
"The President of Georgia is once again appealing to Georgians who are abroad to return home, where the government promises to provide them any support and assistance", Manjgaladze said.
As reported, on November 23 at about 22:30 near the metro station "Kuzminka" three members of the 2nd department of an operative regiment of police of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of Moscow halted two pedestrians, one of which was an IDP from Abkhazia, and beat him up to death.
