An American tabloid, National Examiner, reported that, in its opinion, Russian Muslims had been warned about a forthcoming bombing of the luxury Russian train "Nevsky Express". In an article entitled "Warning of Russian attack released 2 days prior to train bombing on Islamic website", the newspaper wrote:
"In a November 25th posting on the Kavkaz Center website, a letter from a representative of Russian Muslim group, Muwahhidun ar-Rusi stated:
"Friday is the most blessed day of the week for Muslims. Friday is the weekly holiday for the Muslim Ummah. Therefore we have chosen this day to attack Russia, as a gift for the holiday.
The "holiday" referred to is Eid'l Adha, the festival of sacrifice with Friday being the day of prayer in the mosque.
This letter was published 2 days before the bombing, and also claimed responsibility for attacks at a naval arsenal and a power plant (in fact - a gas storage facility - KC). This group pledged allegiance to Dokka Abu Usman, Emir of Mujahideen of Caucasus".
We would like to specify thereupon that the bombing of the train in fact occurred on Friday, about 9:35 pm.
Meanwhile Russian special services have publishd the name of the "organizer" of thé sabotage operation, Pavel Kosolapov, who according to the Federal Security Service "was an assistant of Shamil Basayev and under his orders he is still operating on the territory of Russia".
In 2007 the "Nevsky Express" train was already blown up. The responsibility for the sabotage operation was then claimed by the Martyrs' Brigade "Riyad-us-Saliheen". Nobody has yet claimed the responsiblity for the last Friday's bombing of the "Nevsky Express".
