Statement of the Riyad-us-Saliheen Martyrs' Battalion regarding the Martyrdom Operation in Province Ghalghaycho on 17 December 2009. Kavkaz Center provides this statement in summary form.
The Riyad-us-Saliheen Battalion has claimed responsibility for the martyrdom-seeking operation carried out at the Ekazhevo Circle in Nazran, which was also the target of the 'Operation Badr' martyrdom operation several months ago that led to the elimination of many infidel soldiers.
The statement says that as a result of the martyrdom-seeking attack on December 17, 2009, that at least 10 people from the infidels and apostate were eliminated, most from a passing military convoy. Amongst the destroyed was an armored UAZ from the 'Ossetian FSB', which was totally destroyed with all of its occupants. Several other vehicles, including URAL transport trucks, were heavily damaged.
The operation was conducted on the orders of Emir Abu Usman (Hafidhahullah), and the time and place was specifically chosen to cause the maximum number of casualties amongst the kuffar. The explosives which were used were also stuffed with construction nails so as to increase its effectiveness.
The operation was carried out by the brother Batyr Dzhaniyev (Rahimahullah), as the kuffar claimed, but the statement says that the brother was already a member of the Mujahideen, and that he had volunteered to take part in a martyrdom-seeking operation a long time ago.
It should be remembered that on December 16th, 2009, Batyr's family was killed by explosives which were planted on their vehicle by apostate and infidel soldiers at the Magasovskom Circle checkpoint. As he learned about his family's killing before he carried out his operation, the Russian media began to spread lies that the brother had only carried out the operation looking for vengeance.
The rest of the statement warns the innocent Muslim people of the region to try and avoid travelling on roads with the apostates, because the Mujahideen plan many more operations to target them wherever they gather in large numbers.
