Early in the morning on Friday, January 27, representatives of the Chechen and Dagestani diaspora gathered in front of the deportation prison in the Swedish town of Flen and held a protest rally against Swedish government's efforts to deport a Chechen refugee, Emilkhan Sadayev, to bloody Russia.
The action was supported by activists from some Swedish organizations, who arrived to Flen in a car convoy together with the Chechens and Dagestanis.
The action was attended by over 100 people. In front of the prison, the protesters unfurled banners demanding the release of Emilkhan Sadayev.
The participants shouted slogans and appealed to Swedish authorities not to commit the crime by deporting Sadayev to certain death to Russia.
The protesters collected signatures under a petition demanding the release of Sadayev.
After some time, prison administration officials went out to meet the organizers of the protest. During the talks, a copy of the petition was handed over to the administration of the deportation prison.
After the end of the action in Flen, the protesters moved in a joint car convoy to the city of Norshoping, a few dozen kilometers from Flen.
Another protest rally was held there in the front of the Norshoping migration service.
The organizers of the action and representatives of the Chechen diaspora met the migration officials. They also handed a petition with the signatures of the protesters to them and called for the release of the Chechen refugee.
The administration of the migration service took the petition and said the demands would be examined and taken into account.
Meanwhile, Emilkhan Sadayev reported from prison that he was handed an official document, stating that the day of his deportation was fixed for February 2, 2012.
Not a single Swedish media outlet reported neither about recent arrests of the two Caucasian refugees nor about the protests, which is a bad omen for their fate.
