Russia backed illegal Assad regime launches ground assault in liberated Aleppo

Publication time: 8 August 2012, 18:34

The Assad regime forces advanced into Al-Malaab Street with Russian-made tanks and armored vehicles and fierce fighting is now taking place in the area.

A large number of peaceful Muslims have been killed or injured by the Alawite army in fierce battle near Salaheddine in which advanced Russian tanks have been used by the Assad's forces. Clashes have also been reported in Hanano, Tareeq Al Bab and Sha'ar in the besieged city.

The clashes taking place in the streets of Salaheddin and in surrounding areas were the most fierce that the northern city has seen in the nearly 17-month uprising.

The murderous Alawite army has made progress but freedom fighters have not abandoned Salaheddine.

The ASawite army, which has been massing its troops and armor in and around Aleppo since late last month, was moving from west to east, coming from Hamdaniyeh, a district adjacent to liberated Salaheddine".

"FSA has been bringing in its own freedom fighters from outside Aleppo from country side e.g. Idlib, Homs because for them it's a major battle. Salahedinne is also crucial for the illegal Alawite regime.
