Kuwait's Moonlighting Committee announced Friday that the Crescent for the month of Shawwal had not been sighted, which means that Saturday, August 18, 2012, will be the 30th of Ramadan.
The panel added that the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, would be Sunday, August 19, 2012.
The Saudi Supreme Court also announced Friday that Saturday would be the 30th day of the Holy fasting month of Ramadan. The court said the first day of Eid Fitr will be Sunday August 19, Saudi media sources quoted a statement by the Court as saying.
