KC sources report that a son of Chechen Emir Khamzat (aka Ruslan) Gelayev, Rustam Gelayev, martyred (Insha'Allah) in fighting in Syria.
The information on the martyrdom of Rustam Gelayev was also reported by some
sources among the Chechen diaspora in Europe.
The sources report that Rustam Gelayev was the eldest son of the Chechen Emir who martyred (Insha'Allah) a few years ago, from his first marriage with a Russian girl, native of the Omsk region, where Khamzat Gelayev worked in1980's.
Rustam Gelayev was born in 1988 and lived for a long time with his mother in Russia, but moved to his father before the Second Russian-Chechen War in 1999.
Some time ago, Rustam Gelayev left Russia for Islamic education in a Middle East country.
In early summer 2012, he came to Syria with a group of volunteers to take part in fighting against Alawite militias.
According to the sources, a squad of Rustam Gelayev entered into a battle with superior forces of the Alawite regime in a Syrian district, presumably between August 11 and August 13, 2012. During the fighting, he was martyred (Insha'Allah).
His body was taken from Syria and sent to Chechnya where he was buried on August 17, 2012.
