Son of Chechen Emir fought all the same in Syria

A picture of the eldest son of the famous Chechen Emir Khamzat Gelayev, Rustam, with a weapon on the background of a black Islamic flag has been published in the Internet.

The picture e titled "Son of Gelayev in Syria" has been posted on a Chechen forum lamanserlo. As reported in comments by the user who published the photo, he also has a video footage with him.
 
It is to be recalled that sources in the Chechen diaspora in Europe reported that the son of the Chechen Emir Khamzat (Ruslan) Gelayev, Rustam Gelayev, had martyred (Insha'Allah) in fighting in Syria.

Information on the martyrdom of Rustam Gelayev has also been confirmed by KC sources.

Rustam Gelayev was the eldest son of the Chechen Emir who martyred (Insha'Allah) a few years ago, from his first marriage with a Russian girl, native of the Omsk region, where Khamzat Gelayev worked in 1980's.

Sources in the Chechen diaspora said that some time ago Rustam Gelayev left Russia for Islamic education in a Middle East country.

In early summer 2012, he came to Syria with a group of volunteers to take part in fighting against Alawite militias.

A squad of Rustam Gelayev entered into a battle with superior forces of the Alawite regime in a Syrian district, presumably between August 11 and August 13, 2012. During the fighting, he was martyred (Insha'Allah).

It was also reported that Rustam Gelayev's body was taken from Syria and sent to Chechnya where he was buried on August 17, 2012.

Meanwhile, a Moscow KGB paper Kommersant claimed referring to a relative of martyred Rustam Gelayev that the 24-year-old son of a martyred Chechen Emir was killed in a mosque, which came under bombardment of Assad's planes. The relative lives in the Russian-occupied Chechnya. The paper claims that it happened a day before he and the other students from Chechnya intended to move to Turkey - to escape from the war zone. In the mosque, they were claimed going to spend a night. The KGB paper did not explain what they were doing at all in war-torn Syria.

Two fragments of a bomb - one in the liver, the other in the head - presumably resulted in immediate death of Gelayev Jr., the paper said adding that all those who spent the night in the mosque, including some friends of Gelayev, died as a result of the bombing.

The paper also denied that Rustam Gelayev was buried in Chechnya. According to the paper, his body was moved first to Turkey, and from there to Georgia's Pankisi Gorge, and the burial took place there. His uncle, Akhmad Gelayev, who has long been living in Georgia, allegedly took part in organizing it.

The puppet ringleader Kadyrov has also denied information on participation of Chechen volunteers in the Syrian war. He claims that any information about it is a lie concocted by America.

We would like to recall in this connection that thousand of ethnic Chechens live in Syria since the 19th century. They moved there after the end of the first Russian-Caucasian war in 1864.
